No refunds will be issued for players withdrawing after March 31 for the Spring season, or September 1 for the Fall season. If a player registration is accepted after these dates, refunds will not be accepted once a season game has been played.

All refunds will be subject to a $55 admin fee which includes Insurance, Power Up Sports fees, Bambora fees, BCPFA fees and Football Canada fees. These fees are charged to Football Nanaimo at registration and are not refundable to us. If tackle equipment has been issued a $10 charge for socks and a $10 charge for mouth guard will also be deducted.

Tryouts are non-refundable.

Code of conduct

Vancouver Island Canadian Football Association and Its Members
We Run On Volunteers

There are no pay cheques today, tomorrow or in the near future — we are here to bring the best football experience for everyone.

Every player, coach, parent and volunteer should always be treated with respect and courtesy.

No angry outbursts directed at a coach, manager, trainer, officials, player or any volunteer will be tolerated.

If you are upset about something, give it 24 hours, then contact the manager or coach with your concern. The same applies to emails.

Do not shout or give any instructions to officials. If it’s a bad call, move on. We learn from mistakes, including our young officials and players.

We will always strive to treat every player fairly and keep them safe. Please share any information that can help us do that.

Respect each other — we are all here for the same reason. What you say and how you say it can stay in a child’s memory for a long time.

Respect all volunteers and fans. Remember these are grade school children on both sides of the ball.

In many ways, we are in the memory business. Let’s give our young players and officials the best memories so they carry this forward to the next generation.

FN Field Rules, regulations and policies

Dear Football Nanaimo Parent/Guardian/Spectator,

The following Rules/Regulations/Policies are set by the Football Nanaimo Board of Directors, in respect to Football Nanaimo, Football BC, Vancouver Mainland Football League, the City of Nanaimo, and the Regional District of Nanaimo.

SPECTATORS
All spectators at games and practices must remain on the sidelines. Only registered volunteers are permitted in the playing area or scoreboard/tower sidelines. A marked spectator line will be used on game days. Only those on “sticks” are allowed on the playing field sidelines.

Registered volunteers include: Football Nanaimo Players, Coaches, First Aid Attendants, Team Photographers, Managers, Trainers, and Football Nanaimo Executive/Directors. Play counters, game commissioners, scoreboard/announcers are covered only for the scheduled game time. Registered volunteers from visiting teams are treated the same during games.

If you are not registered with Football Nanaimo in one of these roles, you are not insured for incidents on the field.

Please also respect the Rugby playing area. When a rugby game is on, space is tight. Be alert near their sidelines.

DOGS IN THE PARK
No dogs are allowed on any playing fields at May Bennett Pioneer Park (even on leash). Fields include Softball/Soccer/Lacrosse, Football, Rugby and surrounding property (areas inside the parking lots). This is a City of Nanaimo/RDN bylaw and will be enforced.

SMOKING
No smoking on our field or sidelines. Please stay at least 10 metres away from the concession, change rooms, and washrooms.

Thank you for your cooperation and support — these rules protect the safety and health of our players, volunteers and spectators.
